People think I’m fearless
When I told my friends that I would be traveling solo for 4 months in South America, the first thing they told me was:
Aren’t you scared?
Well of course I was. It was my first time traveling solo for a long period in South America and I don’t even speak portuguese or spanish! Annnnd I’m really bad at orientation ^^
I had a lot of doubts while preparing my trip.
What am I doing?
Is it really the right thing to do?
What if I get lost?
What if I run out of money?
What if I get robbed?
And yeah I eventually cried because after all I’m not fearless. I have enough guts to overcome my fears but at the end I’m definitely not fearless.
In times of doubts, the only question that makes me keep moving forward is:
What’s the worst thing that could happen to me?
That’s when I realize that yes I can get lost, run out of money and get robbed (although I don’t wish that) and that’s okay.
No matter what happens in life, good or bad experiences, you either learn or grow from them.
So, instead of doing nothing because you’re afraid, be responsible for your life and embrace all the challenges you’re facing by taking action NOW.
